Speaking of the previous review, I don't know why someone who has never used this product would think they could give an accurate review of it. I bought this sharpener because it has the ability to precisely control the sharpening angle for the specific knife you have. I gave it a try and found it to be very effective. It sharpened up my favorite chef knife in about two minutes. I tried it on a ripe tomato and it sliced through it as well as it did when I first purchased it. Next I tried some of my serrated knifes on the side serrated sharpener. Again it came out great. I was told by an employee of a local kitchen store that this sharpener is more gentle on your knives than the Chefs Choice brand sharpeners. I am sure if you decide to purchase this excellent sharpener you will be pleased as well.

Are two angles really enough? Blade angles may vary depending on the style and manufacturer of your knife. For instance European knives have an angle of 11-22 degrees per side, while Asian knives have an angle of 10-18 degrees per side. Simply turn the large knob to the appropriate angle and both the coarse and fine sharpening slots adjust accordingly to produce factory quality edges. A couple of things to consider...
I have NOT tried this sharpener, review is based on the available YouTube vid from the company:

1. Because it sharpens both sides of the knife at the same time, you cannot raise a bur, which means you are kind of flying blind.

2. For the same reason, it cannot be used to sharpen single-edged Asian knives, because obviously you only have one side to sharpen, and this would ruin the knife.
