Sportsman CICS8 8-Piece Cast Iron Outdoor Cookware Set With Carrying Bag

Best Product From Sportsman

This seems like such an amazing deal right? Then you recieve them........
So yeah, I did get the set, it came in a very cool bag that is sturdy and has a specific place for each piece which is awesome. My problem though in pulling out the cast iron is it's soooo rough! It's so rough you can't wipe it down with a paper towel w/o pieces getting stuck into it, same with a towel, covered in fuzz! Soo, I'm going to use 80, then 120, then 220 sandpaper and get these smoothed out then re-season on low in the oven a few times and see if I can get these to be more usable. I bought these to avoid this process with used pans, by the way, so I'm not happy about it. I'm sure after a little (or a lot) of elbow grease and some constant use these will be fine. But still, be warned, these aren't your grandma's quality cast iron pans. If this is to be a camping set for infrequent use then this might be the set for you, but if you're looking for a nice set to keep forever and use daily, keep looking.

This Cast Iron Cookware Set is essential for camping. Cast iron cookware distributes heat from gas stoves or campfires, ensuring an evenly cooked meal. This set comes ready to use right out of the box - no need to pre-season with messy lard. When properly cared for, the classic cast iron design will last a lifetime, and will only improve with age. This 8 piece set includes all of the pieces you’ll need to prepare almost any meal at the campground or at home. A nylon carry case is included that makes it easy to store and move from campsite to campsite. Cuisinart 66-10 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 10-Piece Cookware Set

Best Product From Cuisinart

Great price for such a good set
I bought the 10 piece Cuisinart set about a month ago and ever since I've been expecting it to fall to pieces, burst, turn to dust, explode, vanish in thin air, etc. etc... anything that would give me a reason for the low price of 140$ which is 400$ in stores. The truth is, it's too good to be true. But it is! This is the best cookware set I have ever seen by far. Nothing will ever be able to stick to these lovely pots and pans, no matter what you do, so be ready to say goodbye to all the non-stick sprays, oil, butter and soaking and scratching. They don't even need harsh soaps for a moderate cleaning up. It is true that they can burn food, but the instructions say that these are not meant to be used at high stove-top heats anyway, use a low to mid heat and everything will turn up wonderful. They are really good for slow cooking and can also go in the oven up to 500 degrees, which is required for some food I like to make. The glass lids are useful when making rice or seeing the color...

Cuisinart Chef's Classic non-stick hard anodized 10-piece set includes 1-1/2-quart saucepan with cover, 3-quart saucepan with cover, 3-1/2-quart saute pan with helper handle and cover, 8-quart stockpot with cover, 8-inch open skillet and 10-inch open skillet. Cool grip riveted handles for ease of use, durable hard anodized exterior, Quantanium non-stick interior, tempered glass covers seal in flavor, hard anodized, oven-safe construction. Bringing the Good Life Home Inspired by the great French kitchens, Cuisinart began making professional cookware over 30 years ago. Constructed of the finest materials available, to perfectly perform all of the classic cooking techniques. Designed to last a lifetime, Cuisinart cookware makes family meals ...

  • 1-1/2- and 3-quart saucepans; 3-1/2-quart saute pan; 8-quart stockpot (all with lids); 8- and 10-inch skillets

Good for the Money........But
I have had the similar 7 piece set for about a month and have had a chance to use them enough to have an opinion. They are well balanced and perform well, especially the sauce pans and stock pot. The 8 quart stock pot is large enough for a family of 4-6. Cuisinart advertises you can use metal utensils, but when you read their recommended use card, it says metal utensil will scratch the surface. That is a misleading marketing gimmick in my opinion.

My main complaint with the Cuisinart cookware is they heat up very quickly due to the thin 3 mm thickness. The fry pans are the weakest items of the set. After side-by-side comparisons against Emeril's All-Clad Hard Anodized, I much prefer the Emeril brand. The Emeril pans are 5 mm thick and seem to cook more evenly and are not near as temper-mental as the Cuisinarts. They also have a feel of quality, unlike the Cuisinart pans.

For not much more money, I would look at the higher quality Emeril Hard Anodized 10 piece set...
Great value, good pans, not so great nonstick....
After 9 months of owning this set and cooking with most of them almost every day, I can give an honest opinion of how they worked out for me.

Pros:

Excellent heat conduction. Stays hot, cooks evenly, and transfer from oven to stovetop and back is very convenient. Good, tough pots and pans at a great value. I like the large skillet and pots, especially.

Cons:

The nonstick coating is not really there anymore for the two frying pans. Though these have never been in the dishwasher or been scrubbed with anything heavier than a sponge, the nonstick coating has slowly burned off in patches, and now, though it hasn't peeled or flaked, there are spots where the food will stick and nonstick spray or oil must be used. Unless I use some kind of spray, pancakes, for instance, must be made in the large 2-handled skillet.

This is a pity because I was very careful not to overheat the pans--they have really been babied. I will probably buy...

Best Product From Cuisinart

Perfect for me!
I love the size of this stockpot. I make all my own pasta and frequently feed 2-6 people. I wanted a quality stockpot that wasn't a monster but would give pasta room to move in the water. I also wanted a pot that was heavy enough that I could do some browning and build flavor without scorching - for quick soups and stocks made in reasonable quantities. This is every bit as good as my All-Clad pieces at a much better price.

Buy Swiss Diamond Nonstick Fry

Swiss Diamond Nonstick Fry Pan with Lid - 11"

Best Item From Swiss Diamond

Great design and exceptional quality THAT DID NOT LAST.
I have been looking for a good non-stick skillet. I've used non-stick skillets from All-Clad and Calphalon but they all had one problem: peeling of the non-stick layer. I saw an unused All-Clad skillet from their new line at Williams-Sonoma and it had scratches on the non-stick surface.

I found what I was looking for! This fry pan is excellent! It is made in Switzerland. It is big. The outside diameter is 13" and the bottom is almost 9 3/4". It requires a large burner. I have a Miele electric cooktop which has a burner large enough for this skillet. I have tried it over a smaller burner and it worked as well. The food browned evenly over the surface of the skillet. The cleaning is easy. I only have a small issue with the lid. The lid assembly was easy. However, during washing water gets into the steam vent and then it comes out after the lid is dried. It takes few drying sweeps to avoid water streaks on the lid.

Overall, I am very pleased with this skillet. I am...

Swiss quality is visible in every aspect of the 28 cm (11”) fry pan. The heavy-duty cast aluminum body will never warp, while the rivet-free interior prevents unsightly food build-up that can lead to bacterial growth. This skillet easily holds four chicken breasts and other large portions, making it ideal for any family. Includes a sturdy, tempered-glass lid. The included tempered glass lid allows you to monitor food without lifting the cover, maintaining flavor and keeping food from drying out. The rotating lid knob opens or closes a steam vent to release or contain moisture as needed. Used by discerning home chefs around the world, Swiss Diamond’s PFOA-free cookware features unsurpassed nonstick performance for healthy cooking and eas...

  • Stay-cool ergonomic handle provides a safe, comfortable grip
  • See-through tempered glass lid with knob that doubles as a steam vent

easily the best skillet I have ever used
I found one of these locally at just below Amazon price, and bought it to try out. Now that I have used it for several months, I highly recommend it even at full list price, and am saving up to purchase a complete set to replace my other worn out pots and pans.

First things first:

This is one of the best nonstick surfaces I have ever used. Messes clean up better than from Teflon coated pans, even after sitting and getting cold and hard. I have never had to use more effort than simply wiping off with a kitchen sponge and some warm soapy water.

Unlike other surfaces, this one holds food in place until you are ready to move it. Things don't slide around, so they can properly sear and brown. This is also handy for things like fried eggs. I fried an egg just today and it came out perfect. With a little bacon grease for flavor, the surface gave the egg white just enough tension that the cooking egg held together into a nice 4 inch circle instead of...
The cookware I've always wanted
Over the years, my wife and I have tried all sorts of cookware. We have a good set of Calphalon stainless-steel cookware, but we've never mastered the art of cooking sticky dishes such as eggs without a non-stick pan. We've tried every type of non-stick pan we've encountered. Some are non-stick for a short time only before the surface gets mucked up. Our best Teflon pans, such as those by Calphalon, seem to remain non-stick for a very long time with careful cleaning, but recently we've learned that when heated, Teflon (PFOA) cookware outgases chemicals that are definitely not good for you. (An advisory committee has recommended that the EPA classify PFOA as a possible carcinogen.)

Swiss Diamond is PFOA-free and fantastically non-stick. We've used our two skillets extensively to cook eggs and to brown meat, and they look and work like new. Nothing sticks. Omelets are easy to prepare. Cleanup is a breeze. The lids have vents that can be opened or closed, a useful feature. The...

Magma 7 Piece Gourmet Nesting Stainless Steel Cookware Set

Best Product From Magma Products, Inc.

Great Product
I ordered these to use while traveling in our Class B Rv. In a Class B, space is limited and needs to be utilized very efficiently. These nesting cookware products take up very little space. The part that is most impressive however is the quality of the steel. At home I use AllClad cookware. This product is not quite as thick and heavy as AllClad, but very close. This is not lightweight campware, but quality home style cookware that happens to nest. Highly recommended.

The quality and value you've come to expect from Magma's current 18-10 stainless steel cookware sets now available in a 7 piece starter set. This nesting cookware stores in less than 1/2 cubic foot of space. Includes: 5qt. Stock pot, 9-1/2" saute pan, stock pot/saute pan lid, 2qt, sauce pan, universal sauce pan lid, removable handle, and "bungee" storage cord. Each pot has a sealed triple clad bottom (stainless steel, aluminum, stainless steel) and is milled perfectly flat for superb even heat distribution on gas, electric, or ceramic cook tops. With benefits of being oven safe, dish waher friendly and the option of adding to your set by purchasing additional pieces, this set is a must have. Professional quality cookware at a value price fo...

Boater's Cookware
Bought the Magma for use on my sailboat, after looking at Cuisinart and Fagor, which are also good products it seems. I have been very happy with the Magma set. It is well-constructed, heavy and polished. It heats up quickly on my stove, and fits in the sink for cleanup. This set is basic, but really all I can see needing on a small boat. The handle is very solid and doesn't flop around when attached. And it all stores together in a nice stack 7-1/4 inches tall. Thought I might use this camping too, but it is too heavy to backpack - would be fine for car camping though. Very satisfied.
Magma - the best SS cookware.
This is the best quality cookware I have seen. Simply outstanding. We bought this for our VW California and will have great pleasure using it. Also the service and packaging from Amazon is 100%. We ordered the set on November 27th and received it on Thursday 01.12. USA to New Zealand - 4 days, not bad. Thanks a lot.

Love this set
I love this set. I purchased a single burner induction cook top and realized I needed to get some compatible cookware. I purchased these because they could nest and take up suck a small amount of space. They are great! Good solid quality. Handles are very sturdy even though they detach. The price was reasonable too.
Magma, YES!
This is a fantastic set of pans! Why hasn't someone made handles-come-off, nesting pans before? We have an RV & a boat. Perfect!

Bargain Le Creuset Signature Enameled

Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast-Iron 2-Quart Round French Oven, Cherry

Best Product From Le Creuset

love it!
Love this small sized french oven. Lightweight (compared to the larger sized ones) and well made. I have a few other brands of these types of 'ovens' and the Le Creuset one is my favorite because it has thinner walls, but just as sturdy as the other brands. Also its the perfect size to cook for two people.

i Love This Stuff
It is pricy, but with a coat of PAM, nothing ever sticks, and clean-up is amazing. I've gradually replaced my cookware with Le Creuset products, and love them! They are heavy. My 82 year old mother has "banned" me from bringing them to her house with food because they are so heavy, but now she is falling for them. I would never use any other cookware - am spoiled rotten with them. If you are basically just a little careful no sticking, scorching, burning!
Perfect
Perfect to make sauces. I use this pot a lot. The quality of Le Creuset is the best. Totally reliable.

Great set of pots and pans
I was looking for a set of pots and pans that would take up as little room as possible, since I'll be living in my travel trailer full time this Fall. This set fits the bill!! All the pans nestle together in the stock pot. The pans seem to have a very high quality non-stick coating, and the pans have a very heavy feel to them, better than my home set. I've only cooked twice with the Magma set(so far) and no disappointments there. The heavy duty bottom of the pans spread the heat evenly across the bottom of the pot. My only disappointment is the lids, you'll have to keep a pot holder handy as the lid handles are metal with no insulation...however it's not a problem for me. The removable handles seem to be just as stout as the pots and pans, and attach on and off with only one hand. I worried about the handle brackets scratching the sides of the pots and pans, so I bought some extra dish towels to separate the pots while nestled together. Overall I'm extremly pleased with the Magma...
We love these pans
We bought these pans to use in our RV. They are high quality and work well. My wife loves the fact that we do not have to settle for lower quality when we travel. They clean easily.

Best Product From Le Creuset

Wonderful item
We used an Amazon gift card to purchase this product. The pouring spout on both sides of the pot are perfect for gravy, pudding and sauces.
Made rice in this pan and did not clean up right away, no issues with sticking.

The anti-drip pouring lip prevents any dripping of food in undesirable places, and the iron handle is suitable for stovetop or oven use.

  • Safe for use on all cooking surfaces; dishwasher-safe; oven-safe to 350-degree f
  • Ergonomic handle and opposite helper handle for steady transport
  • Even heat distribution and superior heat retention, limited lifetime warranty

Great Little Pan
I love these pots. They cook beautifully and are so easy to clean. I love to cook but always hated cleaning the pots and pans but these pots practically wipe clean. You won't want anything else once you've tried Le Creuset.
worth every penny
You simply won't need any other 1-1/4 saucepan. It is superior to both stainless steel and teflon (such as Circulon) in that it heats evenly with minimal heat (do not use above medium setting) and is practically non-stick. The design is superb: pouring is accomplished with very little to no dripping. It retains heat in a way that far outperforms aluminum or stainless steel.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Panini Press Skillet Grill Set, Marseille

Best Item From Le Creuset

One of my favorite cooking items
I love this Le Creuset cast iron Panini Press and Grill/Griddle pan set. It is awesome, in fact I have two sets (one in the summer cottage). I probably don't prep it in the standard way. I first heat the griddle pan (we have gas) on one burner and heat the Lid/Press on another burner. When they are both hot, I spray the grill pan with Pam, and add whatever it is I'm going to grill. Then spray the Lid/Press and place it on top of the cooking food. If I am going to season the chicken or steaks, I cook one side first, then season the second side. This makes the BEST grilled chicken, great for salads, sandwiches or pre-cooking for a casserole dish. The chicken/beef is always tender - always. Just don't overcook!

My daughter has this same Le Creuset grill in two sizes and her favorite dish is red & green peppers, onions, mushrooms etc. These are wonderful on steaks or hamburgers.

I always let the Grill pan and Lid/Press cool, then add warm water and everything just...

Delivering even heat on the top and bottom, this 10-1/4-inch square skillet grill with a 9-inch ribbed press makes it simple to prepare delicious, cafe-style hot sandwiches, paninis, and melts-complete with authentic grill marks on both sides. The grill pan features raised ridges that not only impart tasty grill marks, but they also help drain away excess fat and grease for healthier results. Because it's made of cast iron, the two-piece set requires only a low to medium heat setting, making stovetop coking more economical. Another thoughtful detail include its dual spouts for nondrip pouring-one on each side to accommodate both right-and left-handed users.

  • Enameled cast-iron 10-1/4-inch square skillet grill with 9-inch ribbed press
  • Ridges impart tasty grill marks on food and allow for lower-fat cooking; dual pour spouts
  • Cast-iron handle and opposite helper handle facilitate convenient transport
  • Hand washing recommended; suitable for induction cooking; oven-and broiler-safe
  • Measures approximately 13-1/5 by 16-1/2 by 5-inch; limited lifetime warranty

Master Craftsmanship
I bought this after seeing my niece use this to make panini's. I was told you could use it on a glass top, but I since have seen conflicting reports regarding this. I am very careful when using it on my glass cooktop. I love it, though. It's really worth the money. Looks like a work of art (in my opinion). Can't get a gas stove where I live (it's easier to use with gas), but well worth the effort.
Love It!
I love this pan! I think calling it a "panini press" is limiting. I use it to cook sandwiches, but also vegetables, grilling ciabatta bread, veggie burgers, etc. It just seems to make everything more delicious. I use it all the time.

All-Clad 6403SS Copper Core 5-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe Saute Pan with Lid Cookware, Silver

Best Item From All-Clad

Wow
Ever since receiving one as a gift, this piece has been the pride and joy of my cookware collection. Having a thick interior layer of copper, the pot is quite heavy, and conducts heat more evenly than the calphalon pan I used to use. The extra money for the copper core is definitely worth it. If I had the money, I'd stock my entire kitchen with this line.

I never worry about things sticking to the bottom of the pot. The trick is to heat the pan on low to medium-low heat for a few minutes before putting oil in the pot, and then letting the oil heat for a few minutes until it begins to smoke.

Stainless steel is much easier to clean than either hard-anodized aluminum or copper. Getting it clean enough to use is a breeze, although personally, I insist on scrouring it until it shines like new simply because I like this pot so much.

Oh, and if you regularly cook for more than 1-2 people, you'll need a bigger version of this pot. I rarely do, and even so, I find this pot to be a...

It features a durable five-ply 18/10 stainless steel construction with a layer of bonded aluminum to enhance heat conductivity. As the name suggests, the copper core provides excellent heat distribution, eliminating hot spots for a perfectly cooked meal time after time. This sauté pan also has a surface that will not react with foods, and a distinctive exposed copper band that adds to the elegance of the design. It has an easy grip riveted loop handle and helper handle provide stability, and the capacity is engraved on the bottom of the pan. The best you can buy (at a steep price)
I think I'm a little crazy for buying this. I just had to find out if the copper-core was really better than an aluminum one. It is, but not by that much. You can buy a pan from Cuisinart's Multiclad series that will do the same thing almost as well for a much cheaper price.

That being said, this thing is very well designed. The rolled-lip is useful for pouring. The radius of curvature where the bottom meets the sides is large enough to allow for utensils to easily get in there (a problem with most pans). The handle stays cool and is well designed. Overall, this is the best 2-quart saute pan money can buy. Is it worth it? That's up to you.
Great saute pan
I own the 3 quart version of this pan, which measures almost 11" across and has plenty of room for meals for 2-4 people. I also own the 10" Copper Core frying pan, which gets more use than this pan because it's lighter, browns a little better, and the sloping sides make the food easier to handle in the pan. This saute pan does an admirable job of browning, though, and the high sides are essential for foods that will finish their cooking in liquid. If you can only afford one pan from the Copper Core line, I'd suggest this one over the frying pan, because it's more versatile. I've found that the space available in the 3-quart saute is roughly equivalent to an All-Clad 12" frying pan, plus it comes with a lid, making this a great option for those just starting out with Copper Core.

Best Product From Le Creuset

The best!
Do not listen to the other review! This is cast iron its the best cookware there is because it is LEAST TOXIC and the tiny size is perfect for tiny jobs. If you want bigger you need to buy a bigger Le Creuset and do not buy this one! It is all heavy if you get cast iron. I love this and all my other le creuset. I get most of them at outlets much cheaper but some pieces not available else where I get on Amazon. Love this cookware!

I'd Like Two
I thought I was ordering the next larger size. What would that be? But I have found this to be extremely useful in our family of two adults. It is a pleasure to use. It cooks foods well, there are no hot spots, cleans up easily. It's attractive and shows off food to good advantage.
Excellent quality.....just the wrong size
Be careful when ordering the 1 quart French Oven. It is really, really, really small. I wanted a small French Oven to boil 1 cup of rice in. I am now ordering the 2 quart.

Bayou Classic CI-7410, 10-Gal. Cast Iron Jambalaya Pot, Tripod Stand, and 2 Lift Hooks

Best Product From Bayou Classic

Perfect cauldron substitute
So I'm not your average consumer for a jambalaya pot. I'm a practicing pagan, and very active in my local faith community in Wisconsin. Cauldrons are a frequently used symbol and tool in our practice, and I was looking for one that would be big enough to actually hold warm cider for a fall celebration. When I tried to find one to purchase, however, I discovered that large cauldrons run in the $500+ range, so was very discouraged until I started randomly searching Amazon for cast iron products and found this! When seasoned all over, this jambalaya pot looks almost exactly like what we think of as a classic cauldron. I bought it, seasoned it and used it at our festival to much applause. I would highly recommend this product to other pagans. Why shell out an extra $300 just to buy a 'cauldron' when you can just rename a 'jambalaya pot' and no one will ever know the difference?

A few notes on the logistics of owning this product.
1)It is huge. I read over the...

This item is made heavy-duty, rough and rugged. Are you an extreme outdoorsman? Do you enjoy hunting, camping, fishing, or scouting? Then take this cast iron jambalaya kit along during your next excursion into the great outdoors. (You know you'll need more than a peanut butter sandwich!) Use with any Bayou Classic single burner cooker.

  • 10-Gallon cast iron jambalaya pot
  • Enjoy hunting, camping, fishing, or scouting with cast iron jambalaya kit
  • Made of heavy duty, rough and rugged cast iron
  • Includes tripod stand with foot pads, 2 lift hooks
  • Measure 19.75-inches in width by 11.25-inches in diameter

Bayou classic
The product is well constructed if you get all the parts! I did not receive the ring that the pot goes in to place on the stand. After talking w/Mike from Bayou he told me he could not help that I needed to have Amazon contact them. So Amazon did w/ me on the line and Mike still wasn't helpful. I mentioned this product came from his company and by him not supporting that, this is poor customer service. He said I was Amazons customer not Bayou. I said you are selling your product through Amazon and you are supporting your product to me the customer.
After Timothy from Amazon spoke with Mike from Bayou he finally said he would look to see if he had 1 and would might call me back in about 30 min if he finds 1 to ship.
After spending 56min of my time on the phone Amazon wasn't sold that Mike from Bayou was going to follow through so is making it right. Too bad I spent approx $200 after shipping and still had to fight w/ manufacturer to get what I needed to be able to use the pot...
Bayou Classic 4 gal. jambalaya pot
Purchased this pot with the stand and hooks.
Pot arrived packaged very well and coated in paraffin. Melted off the pariffin and seasoned the pot using our outdoor gas grill.
The Price was right with free shipping and a $30 credit for signing up and paying with Amozon credit card.
Wish I would have bought the lid with it as I couldn't find one of size locally. I made a lid out of an aluminum pizza pan I got at a flea market. It works but I'm sure the lid that is offered would fit much better.
I am very happy with this pot for the money spent.

Large discount on Kuhn Rikon 3342 5-1/4-Quart

Kuhn Rikon 3342 5-1/4-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker

Best Item From Kuhn Rikon

The best pressure cooker I have used so far
I've gone through 4 or 5 pressure cookers in the last 10 years, and I think I've finally found one I like. I work full time (40-60 hours a week), and I like to cook, so the time saved by pressure cooking is important to me. I use the pressure cooker mostly for meat, potatoes, beans and lentils. Typically, meat cooks in about 1/3 the time it would take in a regular pot. Pressure cooked meat is very tender and flavorful, but you need some experience in matching the cooking time to the type of meat. You have to be careful not to overcook.

The construction and finish of this cooker are excellent. It is made of stainless steel, with a thick aluminum plate at the bottom to spread the heat. This is a useful feature. Typically, pressure cooking requires high heat initially to quickly build up steam pressure before you turn the heat down. That is when food can burn and stick to the bottom of the cooker. This cooker spreads heat very well. So long as you use the prescribed amount of water or...

Prepare food in one-third the time of conventional methods with these Duromatic pressure cookers from Kuhn Rikon. Surgical stainless steel retains its polish, even in the dishwasher. Features an automatic lid-locking system. Made in Switzerland.Beginning in the 1930s, two successive generations of busy cooks used pressure cookers to prepare family meals. The next generation, with memories of valves dancing and hissing on stovetops, snubbed pressure cookers. Now pressure cookers have come back, those old valves replaced by modern versions that ensure safety while delivering the speed, ease, and nutritional benefits of pressure cooking. Pressure cooking also saves 70 percent of the energy normally consumed while cooking. This heavyweight, st...

  • 5-quart saucepan-style pressure cooker made of 18/10 stainless steel; holds up to eight 1/2-pint or four 1-pint jars for canning
  • Solid thermal aluminum sandwich in bottom for even browning and rapid heat absorption
  • Five over-pressure safety systems; automatic locking system; spring-loaded precision valve
  • Saves time and 70 percent of energy normally consumed while cooking
  • Made in Switzerland; hand washing recommended; 10-year warranty

Mom under pressure
As a mom of two active boys I need my Duromatic pressure cooker almost every day. Especially after swimming they are starving and want real food fast! A standard dish is my 7 mintues risotto.I just throw in whatever I can find in the fridge or follow the great recipe provided in the cookbook "Quick Cuisine" that comes with the cooker. For all of you out there who are afraid of pressure cookers I have this to say: This unit is a high tech and safe as your computer! It's so easy to use even my husband can do it. Some of my favorit dishes: Beef stew, BBQ pot roast, beets, corn on the cob (no boiling 10 gallons of water) potatos for mashed or salad, whole chicken in 20 minutes! Well you just have to try it out. This cooker is the best--my kids will tell you so.
Mercedes Benz - Not the Most Reliable
Let me carry the analogy of New York Times a little further - this pressure cooker does have nifty features that other's do not, but...(a) it is expensive, (b) not the most reliable cooker, (c) maintenance costs a lot, (d) you really can live without those nifty features.

Being Indian, I grew up in a house where pressure cooker was used at least once a day. In Indian grocery stores, pressure cookers are available at a third, or fourth of the price, so this pressure cooker is expensive. But it does look better, and has nifty features.

As another reviewer pointed out it is not the most reliable cooker as some plastic parts have poor quality. In my cooker, a plastic part in the steam-deflector disk broke within two weeks. There goes one of the nifty features. After two years of daily use, auxiliary pressure valve is mal-functioning, main pressure valve often gets stuck ( and makes a mess by spurtting out water), handles are cracking, and coming loose easily. One...

I LOVE this set!
I researched every set out there and this fit my budget and my needs and I have not been disapointed one bit! I do not put them in the dishwasher but soak them in warm water and soap until I can wash them properly and by doing this makes the pans easy to clean and clean up very well. Using the Bar Keepers Friend for cookware to polish them has been esential and shines them up well! I also place pieces of felt between the pans so I can stack them without scratching. I do not have room for a hanging rack. I do recommend this set and am planning to get another set for our vacation home. As far as trying to cook eggs such as fried eggs I have not been successful, but cooking scrambled eggs works every time.
cookware
Love it as I have a set of our own. This will be a Gift for daughter, she will be happy too.

Cheap Scanpan Classic 11-Inch Square

Scanpan Classic 11-Inch Square Griddle

Best Item From Scanpan

Does not hold up
I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be the last fry pan I would ever own. It's backed by a lifetime warranty, so how can you loose? Well, let me tell you. The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects like bubbles and chips. But, there are more ways for the fry pan to fail than are covered by the lifetime warranty.

I've owned this for about a year. I've never used metal utensils, never put it into the dishwasher, and never cleaned it with steel wool. Over the time I've owned it, the pan developed a sheen to it. Without warning, one day the pan just stopped being non-stick. Now everything sticks, even with liberal amounts of butter or oil. I wrote to Scanpan to ask them about their lifetime warranty. They sent me two pages of photographs of situations which aren't covered. What seems like normal use to me might look like over-heating to them, which voids the warranty.

The problem is Scanpan puts a large metal disc on the bottom,...

Scanpan combines the latest technology with elegant, functional design and old world craftsmanship to manufacture the ultimate non-stick cookware today. Made of pressure-cast aluminum with ceramic-titanium non-stick surface.

  • 11-inch-square griddle made in Denmark of pressure-cast aluminum
  • Green Tek ceramic-titanium nonstick finish is safe for metal utensils
  • High-density phenolic resin handle securely attached without rivets
  • Dishwasher-safe, washing by hand recommended; oven-safe to 500 degrees F
  • Covered by full lifetime warranty

It is AWESOME!!!!!
The pan does everything we wanted and cleaning is a snap. We checked out every pan there is this size and this is the best. Great for Pancakes, bacon, eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, and burgers. Never burns or smokes like teflon pans and surface doesn't peel.

As you can tell we love it.
Scanpan
Scanpan cooKware is undoubtably the absolute best in every way. NOTHING ON THE MARKET CAN EQUAL IT. And the dealer with which we dealt came through in fine style. I use it for a great number of jobs (steaks, chops, eggs, etc., etc., etc.) rather than a skillet. And it cleans up like a dream---no problem at all (quick and easy).

Berndes Tradition 11 inch Saute Pan

Best Product From Berndes

My Favorite Pan
This has become my favorite pan. I use it for everything. I use it for making eggs, cooking pancakes, browning meats, stir-fry - everything. It is the perfect size for one-skillet meals. The lid fits perfectly and makes it much more versatile. It is heavy enough that it cooks everything evenly. I have not been particularly careful with it, and so far I have not scratched the non-stick surface. I have used it at least onece almost every day for over a year. I do not wash it in the dishwasher, but it cleans up easily and beautifully when washing by hand.

Cooking delicious meals is easy, and healthy, when using the Berndes Tradition 11-in. Saute with High Dome Cover. The Tradition 11-in. • 4-quart sauté pan comes with glass lid
  • High-grade aluminum alloys ensure durable construction
  • Aluminum base delivers excellent heat distribution
  • Nonstick surfaces guarantee easy cleanup
  • Wooden handle stays cool on the stovetop

Good Investment
Use it for everything. Would have liked the bowl to be deeper. The Berndes "skillet" I had before was a heavier, easier to use version. Best skillet I have ever gotten. Keeps even heat and fries at a moderate rate. Rare to burn anything. Had to hunt to find a replacement for my old induction one. Recommend it to all my friends. Works for frying, stews, pastas and everything else and super easy to clean up. Have a small pan from Berndes and it is wonderful too. I have a gas stove and it stays evenly hot when it is on high down to low. No medium "juice out" with meat. Have used a Berndes for about 4 years. Am giving all my other skillets to Second Start for redistribution.
Second time around
I love this pan! I used my first Berndes pan while we were spending time in a flat in Germany. Committed to bringing one home with me, I located them in Karstadt and was so happy for the last ten years with it that I recently purchased my second one! They should be easier to find and used widespread :)

Cheap All Clad 6211 SS

All Clad 6211 SS Copper Core 5-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe 1-Quart Saucier Pan without Lid Cookware, Silver

Best Product From All-Clad

Excellent pan; couple quirks
I'm not 100% convinced that the copper core is worth the premium price tag when the aluminum core Master Chef line performs about as admirably in terms of evenness of heating, but this one was in stock and the other one wasn't, so the choice was simple.

It's a tiny little guy, but a solid performer. It came up to temperature quickly, and my infrared thermometer showed the sides staying within 5-10 degrees of the bottom at all times with no significant hot or cold spots anywhere. I elected to prepare a very simple dish--Farina with coconut milk and palm sugar--for its maiden voyage, and it cooked well without any scorching at all. I actually had a hard time telling when it was done because of the complete absence of bubbles--something I'm used to seeing with my old pan which has hot spots a'plenty.

Some people have complained that All-Clad's 1-quart sauciers are off balance and easy to tip. While a bit of pressure on the end of the handle will indeed lift the...

All-Clad Copper Core 1qt Saucier PanThis beautiful, versatile 1-quart saucier pan has rounded sides, which increase the amount of food it can hold relative to the diameter of its bottom. Because the copper core extends up the sides, foods cook uniformly in the pan, even though it's 2-1/4 inches deep. And because the interior is nonreactive, acidic sauces won't taste metallic. Its polished 18/10 stainless-steel handle is riveted to the pan for strength, grooved on the top and rounded on the bottom for comfort, and holed in the end for hanging on a hook or peg. The long handle stays cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's heat. Hand washing this pan will preserve its jewel-like beauty during its lifetime warranty against defects...

  • Beautiful, versatile 1-quart pan with rounded sides
  • Stainless-steel interior and exterior with elegant copper stripe
  • Pure copper core for quick, even heating
  • Long, comfortable, stay-cool handle riveted for strength
  • Lifetime warranty against defects

Other All-Clad lids DO NOT fit
They make it clear that this one does not come with a lid, but I would have never guessed that none of their other lids would fit. I have both the 6" stainless lid and the 6-1/2" copper core lid and neither fits. The 6-1/2" that comes with their small copper core saucepans comes closest, buth the shape of the lip (and 1/2" larger pan diameter) make it a precarious balance. Otherwise a very nice pan. I also find the copper core handle with the added bump on the bottom to be a lot more comfortable than their stainless handles.
A Small Sensation!
I own several pieces from the Copper Core line, and bought this piece simply because I found an incredible price on it. I didn't expect to use it often, as I tend to reach for my small saucepans; I just thought this saucier was just too small for much of anything. But I have surprised myself with this one! I have melted chocolate, made small batches of glazes, a cooked vinaigrette, and always use it now for my reduction for blender bernaise. It comes in handy more than I expected, and the long handle is especially convenient (and not typical) on cookware of this size. It is quickly becoming a favorite piece. And like my other AC Copper Core, it heats beautifully and evenly on low to medium heat, and is a delight to cook with.

Don't hesitate if you are wondering about the size - you will find many uses and love this little gem.

Best Product From T-fal

Great mix of products
I have this set for my single apartment, I love cooking a lot and I use them daily. T-fal quality don't need any words.

- Mix of Stainless Steel pots and Non-stick pans is a great idea. I don't need non-stick pots, or stainless steel pans and this is the set I just wanted.
- 5.5 Qt Dutch Oven is pretty large if you are single and you don't cook for a family. But if you cook in large sizes for the whole weeks meal like me, it is very useful.
- Various sizes of sauce pots are very useful for many jobs. If you need to boil some pasta or veggies for a single meal smallest one is enough. Or you can use larger ones for any other cooking.
- Non-stick pans with thermo-spot are great. Set has one small and one considerably large pans. I usually use the smallest one for scrambled eggs, or making a burger, or cooking some chicken. You can use the saucepot lids to cover it. It wont fit perfectly but it will do the job. However there is no lid, for the largest pan, which...

It's like I designed it!
This is the best set I have ever had...and certainly not close to the most expensive! It really is like the cookware designer sat down with me and asked me what features I would like. Stainless steel pots, nice stainless steel/non-stick pans, glass lids, cool to touch silicone covered handles, large easy to handle cool to touch silicone covered lid handles. I really couldn't ask for more...super happy with this purchase. I would highly recommend :)
Great Buy
Fantastic buy, great product! The products look better than the picture. Love the pans and would highly recommend it for people who love to cook! This one's a keeper!

Cuisinart MCP-7N MultiClad Pro Stainless-Steel Cookware 7-Piece Cookware Set

Best Item From Cuisinart

Giving All-Clad a Run For Their Money!
I'm a fan of multiclad cookware, the kind that takes heat conductive aluminum and surrounds it with easy to maintain stainless steel. Professional cooks swear by it, but I'm just a home cook, and didn't even know about until a few years ago while watching America's Test Kitchen. This popular PBS series tests kitchenware, and reports their recommendations via their TV show, as well as 2 different magazines they publish. All-Clad cookware has always ranked up there as the best, but at a high price!

Fortunately for us middle class working stiffs, other cookware manufactures have picked up on the multiclad concept and have been producing their own versions. Enter Cuisinart's MultiClad Pro line.

This particular item takes all the benefits of multiclad and gives us a reasonably priced alternative. Compared to the All Clad Stainless Steel 9-Piece Cookware Set at a price tag of over $650, you are...

Elegant and contemporary, the Multiclad Pro line from Cuisinart consists of deluxe cookware for the professional home chef. The exteriors of the 18/10 stainless steel pots and pans feature a handsome brushed finish, while the interiors are mirror-polished for non-reactive, quick release of foods. The tri-ply Heat Surround technology sandwiches an aluminum core in the base and side walls for superior, even heating. You'll also find solid cast stainless-steel handles that stay cool on the stovetop, tight-fitting stainless-steel lids, and drip-free pouring rims. decent cookware at a decent price
I don't see the spotting that others have reported. A bit of white lime but that is not the fault of the cookware. Noticed that these are bit more expensive than other sets. Perhaps they are of a better quality. So far I'm very happy with them.
Great Set!
This cuisinart cooking set is perfect for my cooking needs. Awesome heavy duty quality, non stick, and looks great. I've cooked eggs, ground beef, pasta sauce, brown rice, pasta and steamed vegetables with this set all with ease, cleaning these pots and pans is very quick and easy as well.

The Best In Non Stick. Great For EGGS!
I own this pan in the 8" and just love it. I was looking for a good quality egg pan and this is it! I use it everyday. All the teflon on my other pans eventually peeled up and I was afraid we were eating the product! I tried other types of pan, but my eggs always stuck. I went down to the outlet and found this pan. Yes, it was pricey but if I never have to buy another egg pan...I'm happy. The very first time I used it for my eggs, they did seem to stick a bit and I started to get discouraged...don't. The pan will season itself with each cooking. By just the third time of egg cooking... no sticking what so ever! The pan has a nice beefy weight feel to it without being heavy and looks beautiful. I could not be without this pan anymore. Le Creuset continues to make high quality products and you will not be disappointed with their non stick pans.

We just purchased this pan because we liked the idea that the exterior is non-stick as well as the interior. We have used their enameled cookware in the past and found it very difficult to keep the enamel clean. This one may not be as pretty but it sure should be a year from now. In addition, the pan comes with a 10 year warranty for the cook surface. It also has an extra thick flat bottom which is great for our flat range top.
excellent pan
2009 was the year we bought a bunch of new cookware, including two different brands of hard anodized pan. One was a store brand, and has begun to show its wear and tear. The Le Creuset pan is in the same condition as when we bought it, cleans up easier, and is a pleasure to cook with, as with all Le Creuset cookware it is simply above average in quality and well worth the price.

Cheap Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 3.2-Quart Saucepan with Lid

Best Item From Swiss Diamond

WARNING: this product is not "virtually indestructible" or "metal utencil safe"
I recently bought a Swiss Diamond Saute Pan on the basis of a limited lifetime warranty and this claim in the product description:

"Swiss Diamond cookware features a revolutionary new non-stick incorporating diamond crystals ... to form a virtually indestructible non-stick cooking surface that will not crack, blister or peel. So durable its metal utensil safe."

After my experience using this pan I take issue with the terms "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" and feel that I have been deceived.

I've followed Swiss Diamond use and care instructions *to the letter* but not long after I started using the pan the surface became pockmarked. I would submit that the product is certainly neither "virtually indestructible" nor "metal utensil safe."

Interestingly their lifetime warranty does not cover "scratch marks," which is puzzling because they've just claimed it's "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe." How is a...

Tired of scraping gravy and spaghetti sauce off the bottom of your pot? Forget the elbow grease and hours of soaking in the sink. A Swiss Diamond sauce pan cleans up quickly and easily. Its thick, heavy bottom prevents burning, while cast aluminum walls distribute heat to warm contents evenly with less stirring. This 3.2 quart model includes lid. The included tempered glass lid allows you to monitor food without lifting the cover, maintaining flavor and keeping food from drying out. The rotating lid knob opens or closes a steam vent to release or contain moisture as needed. Used by discerning home chefs around the world, Swiss Diamond’s PFOA-free cookware features unsurpassed nonstick performance for healthy cooking and easy clean-up. The...

  • Cast-aluminum 3.2 quart saucepan with diamond-crystal nonstick surface
  • Stay-cool ergonomic side handle provides a safe, comfortable grip
  • See-through tempered glass lid with knob that doubles as a steam vent
  • Dishwasher-safe; oven-safe up to 500 degrees F; metal-utensil safe

The gem of non-stick
I am a serious cook, and I have tried just about every non-stick cookware available, and been disappointed--it either didn't work, or it didn't last.

The Swiss Diamond cookware is miraculous. It is so non-stick that you can almost get it dry with a shake or two-the water doesn't stay on it! I have probably used the pots and pans in my collection over 500 times, and nothing has taken more than a few swishes with a brush and a finish swipe with a plastic scrubber if I had cooked something on. And the non-stick covers the entire pan inside and out, except for the bottom that contacts the heat source.

One warning, which is made in the instructions: you must be careful to clean the pan thoroughly before using it again. Food left on the pan can cook into a permanent stain. This is true of every non-stick surface I have every used. My pans look like new after most of a year, and it hasn't taken more than a little extra care.

Unless you need to use very high...
Very Very Good - - for a while
I really liked this pot when new. The distribution of heat is excellent, the nonstick coating was great, and it even had the neat feature that butter spreads out (usually on nonstick pots the butter sort of beads up. In this one it makes a lovely smooth coating you can fry on).
I still like the vented glass lid, which I have kept although I threw the pot in the trash.
After six months it was noticeably less "nonstick" - - needed a little extra work to get it clean.
After a year it was not "nonstick" at all.
After 15 months, it has nasty brown bits of unknown material that are very hard to clean off it. I don't know if it's burned food or some part of the pot itself that is peeling off - - yuck.

Sorry - - too expensive for a pot that only lasts a year. I'm back to my 20-year-old Revereware (but, alas, I see in the reviews that the Revereware brand is now cheesy Asian import junk instead of real quality American product. Sorry, I don't know what to...

Deals for Scanpan CTX 12-3/4-Inch Fry

Scanpan CTX 12-3/4-Inch Fry Pan

Best Item From Scanpan

Nothing better than Scanpan!
This is our Third Scanpan, and we love them. Quite simply the best non-stick cookware we have found.

Let me give a quick background - After we collected All-Clad for several years, it was evident that the non-stick All-Clad was not up to the task. It began to get old and clean-up became tiresome and difficult as the All-Clad non-stick coating wore down and honestly stopped working. We also own some of the All-Clad stainless that is "supposed" to be non-stick based on heating it first, but I find that to be untrue. For pots and other cookware we still like it.

Scanpan has become our favorite cookware over the last 3 years, and the first one purchased is as clean and effective as this brand-new one. No visible wear or tear at all, and a breeze to clean up. We started with the small 8 inch, then the 10 inch, and now the 12 inch to round out our collection and replace our last All-Clad non-stick. It is all very durable and fast to heat up, giving perfect even...

The most versatile of all cookware, Scanpan CTX Fry Pans come in several sizes making it easy to cook the perfect scrambled eggs for one or chicken piccata for the entire family. Multi-layer fused construction results in rapid and even heat distribution throughout the body of the cookware. Recycled aluminum core with Ceramic Titanium PFOA-Free Non-stick interior surface and 18/10 Stainless Steel exterior. Pan is oven and broiler safe so going from the stove top to the oven has never been easier. Pans are easy to care for, require 5-second cleaning by hand or just throw them in the dishwasher - these pans will last a lifetime.

  • 5-Layer clad recycled aluminum-stainless steel construction
  • Patented ceramic titanium surface with PFOA-Free GreenTek non-stick allows the use of any utensil, including metal utensils
  • Allows you to achieve gourmet cooking results by being able to brown, sear and deglaze all different types of food -things you can't do with traditional nonstick pans
  • Quick even heat distribution and superb heat retention
  • Suitable for all stove tops including induction

Now it sticks.
I combined raw onions and a sweet Italian sausage in this skillet on low heat. After the onions were cooked I removed them and turned up the heat to medium high to brown the sausage. When that was done I tried to clean it. The onion remnants refused to be cleaned off. Something about them had bonded tightly to the surface. I contacted Scanpan and they advised adding a teaspoon of baking soda to two cups of water, bring to boil, let stand for 30 mins and then scrub. I had to repeat this EIGHT times before the surface was clean. Now the surface is nothing like as slippery as it was originally, and even fish sticks to it. It remains easy to clean, but it's still a disappointment.
Good for about a year of daily use
UPDATE 3/13: Yeah, these are bad. I babied my second Scanpan and it still failed in less than a year. If you're only cooking once a week this will last 5 years. But if you cook daily, it'll be useless within a year.

FWIW I was cooking breakfast w/ various kinds of sausages every morning and had identical problems that other users mention (stickiness / bonding).

In regards to the warranty, there's a dozen use cases that negate it and most of them resemble the wear I experienced. To me, it's not worth a debate over whether the warranty is valid or not. I need a new pan and I now know for sure a replacement won't last for me.

PREVIOUS 10/12:

I'm on my second Scanpan CTX and it's following a well trod pattern.

The non-stick is great for ~4 months of once a day use and then it slowly start sticking. After about a year you can see the coating fading and flaking in well-used areas.

For my second pan I followed all of the...

Cheap Farberware Classic Stainless Steel

Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 15-Piece Cookware Set

Best Product From Farberware

Beware unintentionally misleading reviews. Quality is just ok.
I am reviewing this cookware set having owned & used it for ~6 months. At first glance, this set seems to be very well reviewed; however if you read the reviews closely, it will become apparent that many of them are for older versions of Farberware sets (e.g. "I've owned mine for 27 years...", etc. (!)) Such reviews are very helpful in giving us a concept of the quality of Farberware from 1980, but they are unfortunately irrelevant to the quality of this set. I bought this set aware of said discrepancy, but was hoping that quality had been maintained, a good manufacturer in the past probably being a good one now, etc. etc. This was an error. As it has been noted, the pans' bases are not stainless steel, but rather aluminum that is quite far from stainless. The nonstick coating on said pans is beginning to separate from the pan in several small but spreading points (as I only use plastic spatulas/spoons/etc. to cook with, this is not an issue of user error). I have no complaint with...

Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 15-Piece Cookware SetWith this wonderful Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 15-Piece Set, you can do it all, from soup to nuts. Perfect for large family meals like spaghetti with meatballs, a big pot of chicken noodle soup, or Beef Stroganoff, these pots and pans also come in handy for making solo meals. Whether you're making eggs and bacon for breakfast or a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, you۪ll always have the right pans nearby. This set includes essential pieces needed for both everyday meals and holiday feasts. Farberware Classic cookware combines today۪s technology with the iconic style and quality that Farberware has delivered for 100 years. Heavy-gauge stainless steel is polishe...

  • Set includes 1-, 1-1/2- and 2-quart saucepans (each with lids); 4-quart covered saucepot; 8-quart covered stockpot
  • Also includes 8- and 10-inch nonstick skillets; three kitchen tools (spoon, slotted spoon, slotted turner)
  • Aluminum core in base for quick, even heating; base capped by stainless steel. Made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to mirror finish
  • Close fitting stainless steel lids; classically styled phenolic handles
  • Oven safe to 350 degrees F; dishwasher safe, though handwashing recommended; limited lifetime warranty

Great stainless steel, but skillets are 100% aluminum.
We're happy with our 20-year-old Farberware stainless steel cookware, pre-dating the stainless steel capped base. The interiors are still like new. The lids are shiny and dent-free. The handles are faded, but remain tight with an occasional turn of a screw. We use it everyday.

We are equally pleased with the newer "Classic" pieces, especially with the added weight and improved appearance of the capped bases. We bought the 15-piece set, giving us some redundant pieces but at a better price than buying fewer pieces individually.

We like stainless steel for several reasons: It cooks well. We can use metal utensils. It lasts for decades. It's dishwasher safe without consequence. It looks good. It's heavy enough. It cleans up easily. (For occasional stuck on food, we simply blot out what's loose, add water, and bring to a boil. After a few seconds, the stuck on food wipes off easily.)

There's pricier cookware available, some with aluminum cores...
Not quite as good as the old stuff
Farberware classic is great -- an inexpensive yet equally functional alternative to the very expensive pots & pans. Note: recently Farberware reduced its quality, in that older Farberware pots & pans had their thick aluminum base completely encased within a stainless steel shell. The newer pots & pans have the aluminum base attached to the bottom, but not encased within a stainless steel bottom. So, their quality is less than it was; most people who "grew up with Farberware" may not realize this. Farberware used to hold the patent on the technique of having the aluminum base CURVE up the side of the pan -- they no longer do this, and are the same as many other manufacturers.

Buy Cuisinart CI670-30CR Chef's Classic

Cuisinart CI670-30CR Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 7-Quart Round Covered Casserole, Cardinal Red

Best Product From Cuisinart

Heavy and cooks well
The enameled cast iron casserole, or dutch oven, is a great addition to any chef's kitchen. It generally becomes a family heirloom, because the pot will outlast the chef.

The most well known brand is Le Creuset, but those are also the most expensive. I've found this Cuisinart to be very capable and it's about half the price. Its taken some punishment from me over the past few weeks and performed admirably.

I have a Le Creuset enameled aluminum stock pot. I can't see a noticeable difference in the quality of their enameling. This bad boy is serious cookware for serious cooking.

Cast iron gets a new look! The Cuisinart Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron cookware lines offers a variety of sizes and styles so you can cook any way you like. On the stove in the oven or under the broiler, this durable and attractive cookware evenly retains and distributed heat for results every time. It's easy to sear steaks in the grill pan, braise or simmer family-sized entrees in the casseroles, or bake a breakfast frittata in the fry pan. An with the appealing colors and elegant enameled finish, you won't have to think twice about bringing them right to the table to serve! Any way you cook, equipping your kitchen with Cuisinart cast iron cookware allows for endless menu options. This Cuisinart cookware is timeless.

  • Cast iron contraction retains heat well. Interior does not alter flavors or absorb odors.
  • Wide cast iron handles provide comfortable and secure grip. Stovetop, oven and broiler safe. Induction stovetop compatible.
  • Cast Iron construction provides superior heat retention and even heat distribution.
  • Strong, durable finish in rich colors complements any kitchen décor. Perfect for cooking, serving and entertaining.
  • Convenient maintenance and easy cleanup and dishwasher safe

Cuisinart Enameled Cast Iron - WHAT A FIND!!!
If you are looking for affordable enameled cast iron this is it. I've used Le Creuset many times and it is great cookware...but this is just as good for much less money. I bought this piece - the 7qt oval Dutch Oven in Cherry Red for $89.90 on Amamzon..(the corresponding Le Creuset piece goes for $275.00) and is is beautifully made...not like some of the cheaper knock-offs. Its VERY heavy and the enamel is applied perfectly. Will buy additional pieces (5qt Dutch Oven, grill pan etc.) now that I know Cuisinart makes their Enameled Cast Iron so well.
Cracked and Disappointed
I bought this enameled cast iron pan in hopes that it would be high enough quality to last. Unfortunately, I found cracks in the enamel after only two uses of very light wear. My stovetop use did not exceed the medium setting and my oven use didn't exceed 300 degrees. I would consider that very gentle handling! I will be returning this and buying a le creuset in hopes of a better result.

Cheap Winware 6 Quart Stainless

Winware 6 Quart Stainless Steel Round Roll Top Chafer

Best Product From Winware

This is such a beautiful chafing dish
THis is better than I thought it was going to be. Absolutely lovely. It very, very easy to use. Did I say it is absolutely lovely?

6 Quart Stainless Steel Round Roll Top Chafer - Heavy Commercial Gauge

  • Includes one round food pan, water pan, dome cover and fuel holder
  • Stainless steel mirror finished cover
  • Cover can roll over to 90o and 180o

Amazing value for an Impressive statement piece
After months of researching chafers, a roll top was a priority. No messy lids on the buffet, or guests juggling a plate, serving spoon, and lid...all with just 2 hands.
A roll top REALLY makes a difference, well worth the extra cost, you'll never regret it.
Next is to decide which roll top.
I went through every restaurant supply house, every hotel supplier. Holy smoke, the prices for something nice was off-the-chart crazy!
This looked like a knock off of one of those modern elegant chafers in the $400+ range. I ordered and held my breath, not knowing if it would be a dazzler or a dud.

It is beyond beautiful. It is literally out of this world...I find myself mimicking the theme from Space Oddesy 2001 every time I open it.
If space is at a premium, a rectangle might be an option, but NOTHING will look as chic and breathtaking as a this big polished orb.
Good quality
Good heavy quality. The stand is a little bit bigger (round) than what I was expecting, but still looks. The advertised picture shows air vent holes on top of the dome, which after setting up, it does not. Will cause more condensation to build under the dome. When opening, the dome comes to a cushioned stop at 90 degrees. To open all the way, you push (with a little tension) to the 180 degree. The food and water/steaming dish are a brushed (stainless?) steel - not shiny like the rest of the unit. Thanks to the other reviewers for posting pictures. Helped me in my decision to purchase. All around, I give it a two thumbs up.

Cheap All-Clad 6112 SS Copper

All-Clad 6112 SS Copper Core 5-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Fry Pan Cookware, Silver

Best Item From All-Clad

Amazing cookware, Never Knew It Could Be This GOOD!
Over the years I have used a variety of cookware--aluminum bottomed stainless Revere Ware, Magnalite Professional, Calphalon, Calphalon Professional NonStick. When I finally had to throw out the last of my tattered collection, I started to look for some stainless cookware that would stand the test of time and offer performance to boot. I decided to splurge on this All-Clad Copper Core.

One of the pieces I recieved was this 10" Fry Pan...

Delighted to report that I am THRILLED with this expensive splurge! All-Clad is NOT about expensive hype and status, those these pans are beautifully made, instead they do everything cookware should, and have literally changed the way I cook. Having attended CIA and worked as a professional chef for a few years, I know the golden rule for food not sticking: preheat pan, add oil, let oil heat for 5-10 seconds, then add food. Using these guidelines with the Copper Core, nothing sticks! And I mean for some things, like omelets or...

All-Clad Copper Core 12" Fry PanAchieve optimum heating and cooking temperature using All-Clad's Copper Core fry pan. The patented Copper Core technology uses a five-ply construction to ensure the ideal amount of heat conductivity and diffusion. The center copper layer is bonded on both sides by aluminum to enhance heat distribution, while reducing weight. Finally, the interior and exterior are bonded with 18/10 stainless steel to provide the ideal cooking surface with ease of cleaning. These three materials combine together to create a beautiful and functional piece, allowing for maximum durability and ease of use. The piece also features a long, stay-cool handle that is riveted to the side for added durability and strength, and a stylish ...

  • Beautiful, classic slope-sided, 12-inch frying pan
  • Stainless-steel interior and exterior with elegant copper stripe
  • Pure copper core for quick, even heating
  • Lifetime warranty against defects

One of My Kitchen Favorites
Next to my All-Clad Copper Core Dutch Oven, this is my favorite cooking utensil. I also have the 12 inch fry pan I use when company comes over. After using this pan a few times I threw out all my nonstick cookware. Now I use nothing but All-Clad Copper Core. Every morning I scramble eggs in this pan. I put a pat of butter in the bottom, turn the heat to medium (never high or you'll scorch any pan), let the butter start to turn brown and throw in my eggs. They don't stick; it's amazing. The few times I do have some stickies, I just soak in water for 10 minutes before washing and they easily come clean. About once a month I might soak the pan with a 1/2 inch of vinegar for an hour or overnight. It turns the bottom shiny and new looking. This pan is also great for bacon, saueting pork chops and chicken--just about anything. And, I never have to worry about toxins migrating from nonstick cookware into my food.
Simply the Best
You cannot beat All-Clad in the quality department. After using this pan for a week my family even noticed how my cooking was tastier. This pan does a fantastic job caramelizing meat and veggies. It heats very quickly and evenly. But it also cools very rapidly because the copper is a fantastic conductor of heat and cold. I like the copper core better because of the ease of maintenance. Just a little Barkeeper's Friend and it shines like new. The handle stays cool enough in most applications for me to use it bare handed. The sides are sloped just right to impress your friends with a little food flipping action. I've used it on both electric and gas stoves and was happy with the even heating of both. If you can swing the price you won't regret it.

Mauviel M'cook 5217.15 15.7 by 11.8-Inch Rectangular Roasting Pan and Rack with Cast Stainless Steel Handles

Best Item From Mauviel

Update:
The item description has been corrected and my rating has been upgraded.

Buyers BEWARE!

There are 2 Mauviel M'cook 15.7 x 11.8-inch roasting pans. This one, item number 5217.15 has a thickness of only 1.5mm thickness. The description is claiming this pan is 2.6mm, IT"S NOT. If you actually want the pan with 2.6mm thickness you need to look for item number 5217.40GWP.Mauviel 1830 M'cook - 15.7" x 11.8" Cast Stainless Steel Roasting Pan

From the Sur La Table question and answers about this roaster. "this roaster is a special value made for the holidays.... this pan has a 1.5 mm thickness, while the original Mauviel M'Cook roasting pan has a 2.6mm thickness." [...]

It's too bad sellers don't give correct descriptions of products. This is probably a really nice pan but I'd be pretty mad if I had bought this product thinking it was 2.6mm thick and later found out it is 1.5mm thick.

In 1830 in a Normandy village called Villedieu-les-Poles, Mr. Ernest Mauviel established the Mauviel manufacturing company. Villedieu-les-Poles, long known as The City of Copper, has an 800-year heritage of copper manufacturing. Mauviel's manufacturing expertise is based on this rich tradition of copper manufacturing that has been handed down from generation to generation. Since the very early-years, Mauviel has been a fixture in the professional and commercial markets. Today, Mauviel continues to offer the professional chef products that are unsurpassed in quality and design. Throughout the world, Mauviel is the cookware acclaimed chefs depend on: their restaurant and reputation relies on the best. Mauviel offers several collections of sup...

Not 2.6mm! This is the 1.5mm model
UPDATE: I just noticed that the description is now correctly stating the 1.5mm thickness, so I thought it appropriate to update - adjusted my rating to 3 stars (given the price).

I will start by saying that the 1.5mm pan is still nicely made and a totally usable item. Except they charge you for the 2.6mm model (5217.40) but they give you the 1.5mm model (5217.15) - now THAT'S unfair. I reported this, but have yet to see the description change.

I actually saw the same travesty at Sur La Table. They have the 2.6mm model on the bottom shelf, where all the Mauviel stuff is. It costs $199.99. And by the entrance, on a special display they have the 1.5mm model (which looks identical unless you know to compare the thickness and model numbers) and it too costs $199.99. This is misleading and deceitful. And yes, you CAN see the difference when they're side by side, although it's not as drastic as you'd want.

And yes, no rack in the box, which honestly is a...
Beautiful pan and well packaged by Amazon
10/9/13 Update - FYI, I have a habit of keeping the packaging of things that i buy for quite some time after opening, "just in case." I happened to be clearing things out and was ready to toss the packaging when I noticed that the Mauviel sticker that I stuck to the box notes that the pan I received IS 2.6mm. How odd! I highly suggest those complaining about the "thinness" of the pan examine the packaging - you may have actually received a 2.6mm pan without realizing it - no wonder my pan was so heavy. I'm even more pleased to have discovered that I received a 2.6mm pan since I got the pan for a steal on amazon - the 2.6mm was going for $250 last year on several other websites.
----------
It's a shame that this gorgeous pan has such horrible reviews because the description of the product was inaccurate. It may only be 1.5mm thick (compared to the more expensive 2.6mm pan), but it's quite heavy and looks very sturdy. I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned that the...
