Glad to finally get it. Great product.
I haven't let it change my rating, but it was pretty painful that it took five shipments to actually receive the right product, in an undamaged condition. The first three times, starting before Christmas, I received a Chasseur Pannini pan instead, and then when they finally shipped the right grill it was broken through its package, badly chipped, and had to be returned. Even this one's package was broken open, but fortunately the product was undamaged. Heavy, expensive products should receive a bit more packaging than just the manufacturer's store box.

Okay, now to the product review. I have an induction cooktop and this works great on it. It heats up evenly over two induction hobs with the bridge unit in between. The Lodge two-sided grill/griddle wouldn't work on the induction grill (the edges are too high), but this one does. disappointing: chips and gunk
I've had this pan for a few years and have used it a lot for grilling and then broiling. I never used metal with it, and I never put it in the dishwasher. Despite Scanpan's claims I treated it like a fragile nonstick pan. After a few months of use -- two times a week a least -- it developed patches of gunk in the ridges that simply could not be scrubbed off (with bristle brush or nylon scrubber). It got uglier and uglier. After a year I noticed that the nonstick coating began to chip at the tops of the ridges. Again, I never used metal. I finally gave up and put it in the dishwasher to give it a good cleaning, but this only seemed to discolor it and exacerbate the chipping. Now, when I use it (and I still use it sometimes), I find there's a graphite-like film on the bottom that gets on my hands. So this thing seems to be disintegrating when it should have been indestructible given the price. Maybe I should have kept it out of the broiler. I guess I could test Scanpan's no-fault...
Love this Grill
You can't go wrong with this grill. Cooks evenly and very fast. Really does not stick. Easy to clean. I grill veggies (string beans, asparagus, eggplant, squash, zucchini), fish, burgers, chicken, steaks, shrimp...etc. It is perfection. I use it a few times a week and I love it.

I can cook breakfast very quickly. Pull all the pancakes on the grill at the same time! Breakfast no time flat.

To clean:
I just leave the fire on.
Use a metal spatula to scrub off the big pieces of food.
Use a heavy duty sponge, slightly wet to wipe it down.
Turn fire off.

That's it!

Pros:

Cleaning is so easy and fast. Clean in one minute flat.

Fantastic product
It is big and heavy but that is what I wanted. We used it to make pancakes and french toast on a campout helping to serve about 70 hungry teenagers. It is a great product for use on campouts or for where you have four gas burners available on your stove. I would recommend you consider the half size version of this for normal home use...unless you are feeding an army of teens.

It is very VERY heavy but that's what makes it great to cook on. I use it at home on a ceramic top stove when we want to have food that tastes like its from a restaurant....WONDERFUL.

Does not hold up
I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be the last fry pan I would ever own. It's backed by a lifetime warranty, so how can you loose? Well, let me tell you. The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects like bubbles and chips. But, there are more ways for the fry pan to fail than are covered by the lifetime warranty.

I've owned this for about a year. I've never used metal utensils, never put it into the dishwasher, and never cleaned it with steel wool. Over the time I've owned it, the pan developed a sheen to it. Without warning, one day the pan just stopped being non-stick. Now everything sticks, even with liberal amounts of butter or oil. I wrote to Scanpan to ask them about their lifetime warranty. They sent me two pages of photographs of situations which aren't covered. What seems like normal use to me might look like over-heating to them, which voids the warranty.

It is AWESOME!!!!!
The pan does everything we wanted and cleaning is a snap. We checked out every pan there is this size and this is the best. Great for Pancakes, bacon, eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, and burgers. Never burns or smokes like teflon pans and surface doesn't peel.

As you can tell we love it.

Love the cast iron feature, but the switch failed on two separate grills
One thing I LOVE about this grill is that it has a CAST IRON grate so no non-stick coating to wear off and bubble up. It's a fantastic size and works beautifully. The three stars are mainly because I have now owned TWO of these and both of them were working great till the switch stopped switching it on. I've tried to fix the switch, because when I press the lever manually (with a small stick) it works fine. It just doesn't make contact with the switch anymore in order to trigger it. I've even been able to make it work again by gluing a spacer onto the lever so it is ALWAYS pressed against the switch, and thus always on, but even that stopped working after a while. I don't know if the contact just keeps shifting further and further away from the trigger or what. I just got tired of suddenly having no grill. Since it was such an odd flaw, I bought a second grill hoping that was a fluke, but no...same problem ultimately happened.

Outstanding
This is the best indoor grill on the market. I consider myself an expert on these things having used an indoor grill consistently for over 6 years. I had an old t-fal which came to and end after it simply wore out. This 2-3 years ago. Ever since then I have been keeping an eye on the market for a replacement. The critical requirement for the replacement to be the same method as the old t-fal, and that is, open slats/slots on the grill and water drip tray. This is the key to an indoor grill. The majority you see on the market are closed tops and are nothing more than "griddles". No way shape or form is it a grill when you're essentially frying the food in its own oil despite any method they devise to simulate a grill. It must have a proper bbq grill with slots /slots for the height to come up and the juice to drip down.

This product has it all. Super high / hot element 1800 watts. All others are toy like at 1000 to 1200. Cast iron grill which combined with the high element...
Best Electric Grill available
Bought this for it's higher power and cast iron grate. I am pleased with it's ability to grill and mark the food with grill marks better than the electrics I have tried. Tip..don't over fill the water in bottom tray..go for less as the water detracts from heat to grill grate. Tip..When seasoning the cast iron grate don't use regular cooking oil as suggested but instead use lard. It is available at most groceries.. Cooking oil will leave the grate sticky but the lard won't.. Lastly.. I love this quality grill.
